The wines we taste can normally be purchased locally.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Society is non profit making (sin lucro) and does not trade in wine.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Meetings are normally held in the evening on the 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0Thursday of the month, except near Christmas, and not at all in July and August, at venues currently within the Calpe to Denia area.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A short talk on wine usually precedes the tasting which is followed by a meal, paid for on arrival. <span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.05em; line-height: 1.6875;\">Members complete a score sheet for each wine tasted; the average of these scores is calculated later. \u00a0The scores of individuals are compared and those near the average are awarded a point. (See<a title=\"Wine Tasting &amp; Marking Notes\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cbws.eu\/archive\/wine-tasting\/notes-on-wine-tasting-and-marking\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Wine Assessments<\/span><\/span> <\/a>for further explanations).<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a title=\"Programme\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cbws.eu\/archive\/programme\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> programme <\/span><\/a><\/span>outlining our activities is published and distributed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the interests of wine appreciation,\u00a0<strong>smoking<\/strong>\u00a0is\u00a0<strong>not<\/strong>\u00a0permitted in the dining room.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The annual membership fee for this year will be \u20ac25.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Attendance and menu choice\u00a0<b>normally\u00a0<\/b>have to be confirmed by midday on the <strong>Monday<\/strong>\u00a0preceding a tasting by phone to Penny Floodgate on tel 96 579 4996 or by or e.mail:<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"mailto:pennyfloodgate@gmail.com\">pennyfloodgate@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/span> \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0E-mail bookings will be confirmed by reply. \u00a0 Cancellations and no shows after the reservation deadline of <strong>Mon<\/strong><strong>day\u00a0<\/strong><b>midday\u00a0<\/b>are due for full payment and must be paid prior to the members next attendance, extenuating circumstances will be considered by the President and Treasurer and that decision will be communicated to the member in writing or by email within 3 days.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Guests are welcome to participate at most meetings on payment of a small surcharge.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A<a title=\"Newsletter\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cbws.eu\/archive\/newsletter\/\">\u00a0<\/a><a title=\"Newsletter\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cbws.eu\/archive\/current-newsletter\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Newsletter<\/span>\u00a0<\/a><a title=\"Newsletter\" href=\"http:\/\/217.199.187.57\/costablancawinesociety.com\/CBWS\/newsletter\/\">i<\/a>s circulated monthly to members and waiting list members, giving details of future activities. Further printed and oral information is available at monthly venues.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a title=\"Wine Trips\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cbws.eu\/archive\/trips\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Excursions<\/span><\/a> <\/span>are arranged to local and national wine producing areas.
