March Tasting<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

62 members met at the La Senia in Denia for the March tasting. This restaurant has a nice cosy atmosphere and serves excellent food, setting the scene for members to enjoy the evening.\u00a0 I welcomed\u00a0 members for a tasting of Vinos de Pago conducted by Society members Cherry and Tony Cabban.\u00a0\u00a0 Cherry gave an introduction to the tasting and an excellent and detailed dissertation on Vinos de Pago and Tony presented each of the five wines tasted in perfect detail.\u00a0\u00a0 The cost of each wine, where it can be purchased and average score given by members is shown in the list of wines tasted in 2016, which can be found by clicking on\u00a0\u201cWines tasted in 2016\u201d.\u00a0<\/a><\/span>\u00a0 A full report on the tasting can be found by clicking on \u201cMarch Tasting\u201d<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dress Code<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

May I remind members that the dress code for men on tasting evenings is jacket with tie preferred, but optional.\u00a0\u00a0 Ladies as appropriate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wine Fair<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The XV Wine Fair of Spanish wines will be held at the Tennis club in Sol Park, Moraira on the 5th and 6th of May from 13.00 to 20.00. \u00a0 Entrance Free. \u00a0 11 bodegas, all from different DO will have wines available for tasting and for sale<\/span><\/p>\n

April Tasting<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The April tasting will be held at Ca La Iaia on 21st<\/sup> April. Please note bookings must be received by Monday 11th<\/sup> April. This is a week earlier than is normal.\u00a0 We will be tasting wines from Bodega<\/span>\u00a0A\u00f1adas<\/span> (<\/span>Care wine) from D O Carinena<\/span><\/p>\n

If you do not receive confirmation from Penny then you are not booked in.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

DOORS WILL OPEN AT 19.30; this will allow the committee to arrange seating and tables.\u00a0\u00a0Please do not arrive before this time as it makes it extremely difficult to set up the restaurant.\u00a0We\u00a0would rather you arrive late than early!<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
