presented by Thamar assisted by Mathew of Casa del Vino, J\u00e1vea under the title of \u201cWines of the future: wines of 2017\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The cost of each wine, where it can be purchased and average score given by members is shown in the list of wines tasted in 2017, which can be found by\u00a0clicking on\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cbws.eu\/archive\/wines-tasted-in-2016-1\/\">\u201cWines tasted in 2017\u201d.<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The first wine was <strong>Monroy 2015, <\/strong>from Bodegas Monroy in the DO of Vinos de Madrid.\u00a0\u00a0 The grape variety is 100% Malvar, a grape\u00a0that is<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5095\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbws.eu\/archive\/february-16th-restaurante-cumbre-benitachell\/img_0022\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5095\"><img style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Madrid\">Madrid<\/a> \u00a0where it is a permitted variety in the\u00a0DO.\u00a0\u00a0 The grapes come from two plots of 50 year old vineyards located at 750m above the Tajo and Taju\u00f1a river valleys.\u00a0\u00a0 After maceration and fermentation the wine matures for 80 days on its own lees.\u00a0\u00a0 The wine has a medium silvery lemon colour. \u00a0The nose was intense with aromas of tropical fruits, with a taste of almonds at the end. On the palate the wine was medium bodied with a good structure. \u00a0There were flavours of peach, lime, grapefruit, and honeysuckle with a lovely stony minerality to the finish.\u00a0\u00a0 The Alcohol by Volume (ABV) is 13.5%\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The second white tasted was <strong>Vaya 2015<\/strong>, from DO Bierzo which is a 100% Godello.\u00a0\u00a0 The origins of Godello variety are located in the town of Godella (<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Valencia_(Spain)\">Valencia<\/a>) where this variety was first planted back in the 19th century\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Grown on vines 45 to 55 years old and in a soil of clay and limestone at an altitude of 450 to 600m, the grapes are all handpicked.\u00a0\u00a0 Vaya has a clean yellow colour with golden hues and green hints, its aroma showing hints of mature fruit, flowers, spices and some minerals.\u00a0\u00a0 In the mouth it is smooth, round and balanced with a long and delicate finish.\u00a0\u00a0 It has an ABV of 13.5% \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The first red tasted was <strong>Safra <\/strong>from cellers del Roure in DO Valencia, which is a blend of Mand\u00f3, Garnacha and Monastrell.\u00a0\u00a0 Mand\u00f3 is the indigenous grape variety from Moixent \u00a0 which is a\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Municipalities_of_Spain\">municipality<\/a>\u00a0in the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Valencian_Community\">Valencian Community<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 The location of the vineyards is excellent for the cultivation as they are at 600 m above sea level and 60 km from the sea.\u00a0\u00a0 It is aged in subterranean amphorae for 6 months. \u00a0\u00a0The wine has a beautiful cherry colour, aromas of fresh red fruit and is very aromatic and expressive.\u00a0\u00a0 The taste is fresh and elegant, silky on the tongue with great acidity.\u00a0\u00a0 The wine has an ABV of 12.5%<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Then came <strong>Les Crestes 2015 <\/strong>from Cellers Mas Doix in DO Priorat.\u00a0\u00a0 This 2015 wine is a blend of 80% Garnacha, 10 % Cari\u00f1ena and 10% Syrah grown on 20 &#8211; 25 year old vines.\u00a0\u00a0 This is a<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5097\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbws.eu\/archive\/february-16th-restaurante-cumbre-benitachell\/img_0035\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5097\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5097\" loading=\"lazy\" giving the vote of thanks<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">genuinely delicious, young Priorat wine that has been aged in French oak for 10 months.\u00a0\u00a0 The grapes are grown on a step hillside on slate at a height of 350\/400m with a yield of 1 kg per vine.\u00a0\u00a0 The grapes are picked by hand.\u00a0\u00a0 The wine has a\u00a0 black cherry colour with a violet rim.\u00a0\u00a0 It has a spicy aroma, fruity and mineral on the palate it is flavourful, fruity, fresh structured and a long after taste.\u00a0 \u00a0It has an ABV of 14.5%<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The final wine tasted was <strong>Buen Amor 2016\u00a0<\/strong>a 100% Tinta de Toro (basically a Tempranillo<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">grape) from Finca Volvoreta in DO Toro. \u00a0Buen Amor comes from the highest altitude vineyard, a plot in south-facing slope with over 30 year old vines and a deep sandy-stony soil.\u00a0\u00a0 Buen Amor sparkles in the glass with almost black, cherry red colour with a purple shimmer and awakens with \u00a0fresh scents of cherries, roses and blackberries\u00a0\u00a0 With an ABV of 14% the Amor exceeds expectations with its warm aromas of ripe, red fruit and floral notes, its soft texture caresses the palate and \u00a0it is full bodied and compact.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:
