I hope you have had a pleasant Christmas\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

December Tasting<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The final meeting of the Society each year is traditionally not a tasting but a Christmas\u00a0celebration during which good food and wine is enjoyed, but not marked, in a party atmosphere.\u00a0I welcomed 58 members to the tasting at the Restaurant Nau Nau in the J\u00e1vea Club Nautico and having chosen the wines for the evening introduced each one in turn.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0At the end of the meeting, I announced the winners of the Wine Taster of the year.\u00a0\u00a0 In first place was Renate Pluis, in second Andrew Johnson and third Keith Pacey.\u00a0\u00a0 A prize was also given to Gillian Ashworth and Hugh Epsom for being the only people who made a 100% attendance of the tastings throughout the year.\u00a0\u00a0 Full details of the evening and the wines presented can be found on the web site under \u201cWine Tastings \u2013 Recent Tastings\u201d or by clicking on December Tasting<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

AGM<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Annual General meeting of the Costa Blanca Wine Society will be held at 6.30pm on Thursday 18th January in La Senia, Hotel Nou Roma, Denia. All members are invited to attend.\u00a0\u00a0 An agenda will be posted on the website in advance of the meeting and you will be advised when it has been posted.<\/span>
\n At the meeting I will stand down as President. The current Vice President, Paul Nicholls, has indicated his willingness to stand for election as President potentially creating a vacancy for a Vice President.<\/span>
\n Our secretary, Debbie Theophilus, has also indicated that she will stand down at the AGM.\u00a0 We are therefore seeking nominations for:<\/span><\/p>\n

1.President<\/span>
\n 2.Vice President – should the current position holder be voted in as President<\/span>
\n 3.Secretary.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nominations or offers to stand for any of these posts will be welcomed and should be submitted to the secretary (debbietheo@me.com<\/a>) by Thursday 28th December 2017. Any offer or nomination submitted will be acknowledged to confirm receipt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Membership Renewal<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It is Membership renewal time. January Tasting<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The January Tasting is a members only tasting and \u00a0will be held at La Senia, Hotel Nou Roma, Denia at 7.30 pm immediately following the AGM.\u00a0\u00a0 The wines to be tasted will be presented by the newly elected President.<\/span><\/p>\n
