Vin\u00edcola Real practices a traditional viticulture, focused on a specialized wine production. It achieves wines of small quantity but of great quality. As Alejandro only spoke Spanish, Tim Fawle provided the translation.\u00a0 \u00a0The cost of each wine and where it can be purchased and average score given by members is shown in the list of wines tasted in 2018, which can be found by clicking on\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cbws.eu\/archive\/wines-tasted-in-2018-2\/\">\u201cWines tasted in 2018\u201d.<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Unusually the first wine was a Vermouth, <strong>Vermut San Bernab\u00e9<\/strong>, the name coming from the battle of San Bernab\u00e9 which saw the defeat of the French in 1521. They invaded Spain and tried to conquer Logro\u00f1o by laying siege to the city. The Vermouth is made from old Rioja red wines aged for 3 years in American oak barrels and then macerated for 6 months with 49 botanicals (herbs, roots and citrus). It has a red ruby colour and on the nose aromas of fruit, wild herbs and citrus predominate. On the palate it is well structured being balanced between the sweet, the acid and the bitter.\u00a0\u00a0 The Alcohol by Volume (ABV) is 17%<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The second wine which accompanied the first starter was <strong>Urbi\u00f3n Cuv\u00e9e <\/strong>an elegant and<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_6318\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbws.eu\/archive\/15th-november-ca-la-iaia-moraira\/mde-4\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6318\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6318\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6318\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cbws.eu\/archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_20181115_202926-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.cbws.eu\/archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_20181115_202926-225x300.jpg 225w, http:\/\/www.cbws.eu\/archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_20181115_202926-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.cbws.eu\/archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_20181115_202926-400x533.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-6318\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Speaker Alejandro<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">refreshing red wine aimed at a niche market between Joven and Crianza.\u00a0 It is made with a selection of the best Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes from the estate and has a 10 month ageing in French and American oak barrels.\u00a0 The harvest is done manually and the grapes transported to the winery in 15kg boxes. The wine has a cherry colour with purple and scarlet edge, fresh aroma of red fruit. On the\u00a0palate it is fruity, tasty, and persistent if slightly harsh.\u00a0 \u00a0It has an ABV of 13%..<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Wine number three which was tasted with the second starter was <strong>Urbi\u00f3n Cuv\u00e9e Blanco <\/strong>made from a unique blend of white Garnacha, Viura and Verdejo.\u00a0\u00a0 80% of the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks and 20% in French and American barrels, although it has no subsequent ageing. It ages for 15 months in French and American oak barrels of different<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">ages.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 One third new barrels, one third barrels one year old and one third two years old.\u00a0 The wine has an intense cherry colour; it has a powerful aroma, toasted and spicy with notes of roasted coffee.\u00a0\u00a0 On the palate it is tasty with ripe tannins marked by wood and a very good acidity.\u00a0 \u00a0The ABV is 13%<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The final wine tasted with the main course was<strong> Cueva del MONGE Tinto 2013, <\/strong>made from 100% Tempranillo.\u00a0\u00a0 The harvest is done manually and the grapes are transported in small 15kg boxes to ensure that they are in the best condition when they reach the winery.\u00a0\u00a0 The fermentation process lasts 12 days at a temperature of 28 degrees.\u00a0\u00a0 The wine is aged for 10 months in American and French Oak barrels.\u00a0 Intense in colour with garnet hues and a lingering and complex nose with red berry aromas.\u00a0 \u00a0On the palate it is long, meaty, round and well balanced with soft tannins.\u00a0 \u00a0It has an ABV\u00a0 of
