It is my pleasure to welcome you to the first newsletter of my presidency by wishing you a Happy New year and all the best for 2019.\u00a0\u00a0 We have an exciting programme for the year which I hope you will all enjoy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Annual General Meeting<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The minutes of the 2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on the 17th <\/sup>January are now published and available on the web site<\/span><\/p>\n

January Tasting<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Immediately after the AGM the first wine tasting of 2019 was held at the Abiss Restaurant in Calpe.\u00a0 \u00a0As the newly elected President I welcomed the 47 members to the tasting.\u00a0 \u00a0As is traditional, for this first meeting I presented my own selection of wines.\u00a0 \u00a0A more detailed report on the tasting can be found on the web site under \u201cTastings \u2013 Recent Tastings\u201d or by clicking on\u00a0January Tasting.<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0 The cost of each wine and where it can be purchased and average score given by members is shown in the list of wines tasted in 2019, which can be found by clicking on\u00a0\u201cWines tasted in 2019\u201d.<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

February Tasting<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The next tasting which is on February 21st\u00a0will be held at the Restaurant Amanecer, J\u00e1vea which is a new venue for the Society.\u00a0 Note this is a change in venue from that previously advertised.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0 The Restaurant is located on the Cabo San Antonio road, as on the right hand side as you drive along the Cabo,\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Guests are very welcome.\u00a0\u00a0 The wines to be tasted will be presented by Bodegas Fransisco Gomez one of the largest bodegas in the Communidad de Valencia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Please remember that the booking deadline is the\u00a0FRIDAY<\/strong>\u00a0before the tasting.\u00a0 If you have to cancel after the deadline you will still have to pay! Reservations and choice of main course please to: Penny Floodgate Tel: 965794996 or email: pennyfloodgate@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0Reservations must be received no later than the deadline 12.00 noon<\/strong> on\u00a0Friday 15<\/strong>th<\/sup><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0February.\u00a0Penny will always confirm receipt of your booking.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>If you have made a reservation and do not receive a confirmation from Penny\u00a0you are not booked,\u00a0<\/strong>so in that case please check with her.<\/span><\/p>\n
