We had a total of 53 people who attended the November tasting in a new venue Los Amigos, in Javea. This evening was hosted by Andrew Johnson who presented wines from Bodegas Volver from Pinoso, Alicante .<\/p>\n<p>Also present was the Distributor Javier Valero the exclusive Distributor for Bodegas Volver in the Communidad de Valencia. We visited this bodega on an autumn wine trip in 2018 and were impressed by the quality wines they produced.<\/p>\n<p>Andrew introduced the evening with an interesting commentary on the development of the Monastrell grape variety in the Alicante region as in recent years DO Alicante has made great strides in producing top quality wines.<\/p>\n<p>Before presenting these wines Neville discussed the new Wine Assessment form which was introduced at the November tasting. It was felt that we should revaluate how we assess each wine, enabling every taster to judge the characteristics and qualities of the wine in a more structured way. The taster award had been used for many years and we felt a new approach should be introduced. The wine that achieves the best rating each month will be listed and at the end of the year, the Bodega who produced that wine will receive \u00a0be invited to present their wines and receive the CBWS award.<\/p>\n<p>Wines Tasted were:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Tarima Blanco, Chardonnay &amp; Merseguera<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Tarima Hill Blanco, Chardonnay &amp; Merseguera<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Tarima al Natural 100% Monastrell<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Tarima Hill 100% Monastrell<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Alicante Bouschet, Alicante Bouschet &amp; Monastrell<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A full report of the tasting can be accessed from the website by clicking <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbws.eu\/archive\/newsletter-november-2021\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>CHRISTMAS TASTING<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our next tasting is on <strong>December 9<\/strong> (please note this is earlier than our normal tasting date as many people are away later in December) <strong>at Restuarante A Bordo, Club Nautica Javea.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is our Christmas event when the President selects his \u201cChristmas Selection\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Detailed below is the Menu. Please click \u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cbws.eu\/archive\/survey-december-2021\/\">here<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Upcoming Events<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The AGM will take place on January 20<sup>th<\/sup>, 2022 followed by a Wine Tasting. This will be at Hotel Nou Roma, Denia in their delightful restaurant La Senia. The Agenda for the AGM will be issued in the January Newsletter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wine Trip wc May <\/strong>2 2022<\/p>\n<p>We plan to organise a Wine Trip in May next year.
