\"Las<\/a>Dear Members<\/p>\n

Welcome to our January Newsletter. We had a total of 49 members who attended the December tasting at A Bordo, Club Nautica, Javea. The December tasting is always hosted by the President who had chosen a selection of Rioja Wines.<\/p>\n

As it was a Christmas event \u00a0there were no formalities such as wine scoring or descriptions of the wines, but was a social occasion where members could enjoy good wines together in a convivial atmosphere. In fact 35% of attendees were new members so it was an excellent opportunity to socialise and get to know fellow members.<\/p>\n

JANUARY TASTING and AGM JANUARY 20, 2022.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

We did advise you last month that the AGM will take place on the above date followed by a wine tasting at Hotel Nou Roma, Denia in their delightful restaurant La Senia where committee members will be presenting some interesting wines.<\/p>\n

The pressure on the Treasurer at our monthly tastings has been discussed by our Committee and it has been agreed that from the January tasting we will test a new system whereby members pay for the evening by Bank Transfer as soon as their booking is confirmed.<\/p>\n

Setting up a recipient on your Spanish bank account takes a few minutes, but once done payments to that recipient just take a few clicks.\u00a0 Many members have paid their membership subscriptions by bank transfer in the past, and new members have been required to do that for some time.<\/p>\n

During 2021 we moved from BBVA to La Caixa.\u00a0 The bank account details are shown below; those who already set up payments to the society from their bank will have to change to the new La Caixa account unless they are new members who joined after 16 February 2021.<\/p>\n

WHEN MAKING A BANK TRANSFER THERE IS ALWAYS A SPACE TO INCLUDE A REFERENCE.\u00a0 IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU ENTER THE NAMES OF THE PEOPLE BEING PAID FOR AND THE EVENT.<\/p>\n

Amazingly Spanish bank statements don\u2019t always show the name of the payer unless it is in the reference.<\/p>\n
