The society was founded by Anton Massel a former oenologist who decided he wanted to give wine tasting a wider audience and in 1992 formed the Costa Blanca Wine Society.

Our constitution sets out the objectives and activities of the Society which can be summarised as: increasing knowledge and appreciation of Spanish wines through meetings, tastings and visits to wine producing centres.   The Society is organised to meet these objectives.
