November Tasting 
The November tasting was the second of our regular annual tastings at Ca La Iaia hosted by José who always finds the bodega, in this instance bodega Torelló, from DO Penedes. President John Sloggie welcomed 61 members and guests to the tasting and introduced the speaker Paco Torelló who is the owner of the bodega and who turned out to be an enthusiastic larger than life character. Bodega Torelló is located on the Can Martí estate which has belonged to the family since 1395, and Paco is the 23rd generation. They have been making wines since 1951 and we tasted two wines and three Cava’s. The full report on the tasting is on the Society’s web site and can be viewed by clicking on November Tasting. December Tasting
The December Tasting will take place on the 8th December (note this is the second Thursday of the month) at the restaurant NAU NAU which is located in the Club Nautico in Jávea. If you are not familiar with the restaurant you can park in the street outside the Club Nautico then enter through the big arched entrance. Turn right and the restaurant is just about 25 metres ahead of you. This event is our Christmas meeting and there is no bodega presentation. This is a member’s only function and the dress is Black Tie or dark lounge suit, with appropriate dress for the ladies.

- When you book Penny will ALWAYS confirm back to you. If you haven’t had a confirmation, we don’t have your booking! Please contact Penny again.
- Bookings will close at the stated time. We regret that NO bookings can be accepted after that date/time.
- Doors will open at 19.30 and welcome drinks will not be available before that time. Please do not arrive before then to allow the committee time to arrange the tables etc.
- Table numbers are always allocated by a draw from the bag. Arriving early will not influence your table number!
- As we now collect the money at the tables it would be helpful if you bring the correct amount.
- If you need to cancel after the Monday deadline you should contact Penny direct. Please DO NOT contact the venue.
- Sorry – but if you have to cancel after the deadline or don’t turn up you will still have to pay.
