Members and guests enjoyed a very interesting presentation at the new premises of Restaurante Los Amigos in Javea.

The owner of Acustic Bodega in Montsant, Albert Jane, presented a selection of his wines from his family bodegas, finishing with a delicious Plaer Tinto 2018 from his Bodega in Priorat. For a detailed report on the tasting click here

December 8th, Restaurante A Bordo, Club Nautico, Jávea – 7.30 pm

I am writing to you earlier than usual as our December tasting is always at the beginning of the month due to other pre-Christmas events and people travelling away.  You are promised some very nice wines to taste and enjoy with your dinner as it is El Presidente’s selection! So please make every effort to attend. As December 8 is a national fiesta, and in order to get exclusivity in the A Bordo Restaurante in Club Nautica Javea, we need to ensure that we achieve a good attendance. For this reason, although this is traditionally a members only event, we will offer places for guests who have the definite intention to become members next year.

Dress code for this evening is lounge suits or black tie and the ladies in their usual elegant attire!  

The menu is below. We would ask you to book with Penny Floodgate pennyfloodgate@gmail.com  giving her your choice of main course. Please note that your welcome cava will be served at 7.30 pm.  If you wish to have a drink before this time it must be paid for at the bar.

Bookings will close as usual the Friday before the tasting which, for this month, is 12.00 noon on FRIDAY December 2.  Please ensure you make your booking in good time.

Any cancellations after the deadline will still require payment to be made for you and/or your guests.

Please remember to include in the payment reference the names of the people being paid for and the event – in this case for example: “John Doe and Jane Doe October tasting”.Do not make a payment until you have received confirmation from Penny.

– As soon as Penny confirms your place you should make the payment.
– Members should pay for their guests in this manner so that no payment is received from a non-member.
– Please do not use a non-Spanish bank for this purpose – the charges can be horrific. If you do not have a Spanish account       please get in touch with Mike Granville
– Please make your payment as soon as possible after Penny has confirmed your place – don’t leave it until the last minute to make your transfer.

AGM & Tasting January 19th, 2023

The AGM will take place at restaurante Nou Roma, Denia at 18.00. Members only for the meeting but guests can be invited for the tasting and dinner. The Agenda for this meeting will be sent to you in December.

February 16th, Wine Distributor Presentation

This will be at a new venue, Jávea Golf Club and will be hosted by Neville and Sara Richardson.

May Wine Trip 2023

We have had an extremely good response to our invitation to join next year’s Wine Trip and I can now confirm that it is fully subscribed and there is a waiting list for places.

I look forward to welcoming those of you who are in Spain to our last event of the year.
