Welcome to our January Newsletter and a Happy New Year to all our members! Apologies for the delay in sending this to you which was caused through the late arrival of the menu from the restaurant. Please book your place as soon as possible.
JANUARY TASTING and AGM JANUARY 19, 2023.
We have advised through previous Newsletters that the AGM will take place on the above date followed by a wine tasting at Hotel Nou Roma, Denia in their delightful restaurant La Senia where we will be presenting the winning wines that achieved high scores from members in 2022.

The meeting will start at 18.00h and numbers will be limited due to capacity so you are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment.
The current Committee have indicated their intention to continue in their roles for 2023. However, if there are any members who would like to join the Committee please contact the President.
For those members who are unable to attend the AGM you are invited to join the meeting by Zoom. If you would like to attend please email me direct – timfawle@gmail.com and I will send you an invitation and hope that the technology will work ‘on the night’.
Membership Renewal
Now is the time to pay your subscriptions for the year 2023. The amount per person is unchanged at €25.

For those intending to attend the January tasting it would be helpful (but not essential) if you would make two transfers, one for the tasting and one for the subscriptions.
Now is also the time to check that your name still appears in the reference section – different banks name this section differently. A significant number of people don’t insert their names here, which does complicate the accounting.
TASTING
Guests of members are invited to attend the tasting only and should arrive at the restaurant not before 7.30 pm.
Please make your choice of main course – meat or fish – and advise Penny Floodgate.

Bookings will close as usual the Friday before the tasting which, for this month, is 12.00 noon on FRIDAY January 14. Please ensure you make your booking as soon as possible.
Any cancellations after the deadline will still require payment to be made for you and/or your guests. Reservations and choice of main course please to: Penny Floodgate on her new number Tel: 96 529 1824or email: pennyfloodgate@gmail.com Penny will always confirm receipt of your booking. If you have made a reservation and do not receive a confirmation from Penny you are not booked, so in that case please check with her.
Once confirmed please pay the relevant amount into our bank account as detailed above. And please please remember to include in the reference all the names of the people being paid for and the event – in this case “January tasting”.
Dress code smart casual with optional ties and the usual attire for the ladies.
February Meeting – February 16, 2023
This will be at a new venue, Jávea Golf Club and will be hosted by Neville and Sara Richardson. The guest speaker will be Gonzalo Lainez a wine distributor based in the Costa Blanca who will be presenting a selection of his wines.
March Meeting – March 16, 2023
A tasting of South American wines hosted by Hugh and Gillian Epsom at restaurant Los Amigos, Javea.
