The October tasting at the MR Hotel, Les Rotes, Denia was attended by 63 members and guests enjoying a beautiful location, excellent food and a very interesting talk by Rafa Poveda Director of the MG Wine Group.

In early October 36 members enjoyed the Autumn Wine Trip to Utiel Requena with great weather and good wines and were able to watch at close quarters the wine harvest in the bodegas visited.

November Wine Tasting – A New Venue
This wine tasting will be held at a new venue on Thursday November 21 at Restaurante Canali, Carrer Benitachell 91, 03730 Javea. http://restaurantecanalijavea.com
This restaurant has changed hands over the past year and is located next to La Massena which is known to most members.The new owners are very keen to receive us and, following very good reports we have decided to try this venue.
Restaurante Ca La Iaia has been in the past our November venue but for various reasons we are using an alternative restaurant.
We have Sue Blewett to thank for finding this restaurant in her role as Venues and Menus organiser, so we will be interested in your views. We are looking for interesting restaurants to have as new venues so that we can ring the changes where necessary.
The November tasting should be an interesting evening focussed on wine developments as seen in the eyes of a progressive retailer here on the Costa Blanca.

The Member and Guest Booking System
It has been decided to change the booking system to make it easier when members are inviting guests.
If you are bringing guests Penny will confirm guest places after 12 noon on Friday 8th November and bookings will close at 12.00 noon on FRIDAY 15th November. If maximum numbers are reached, then places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
If you have to cancel after the deadline you will still have to pay! Reservations and choice of main course please to: Penny Floodgate Tel: 965794996 or email: pennyfloodgate@gmail.com. Penny will always confirm receipt of your booking. If you have made a reservation and do not receive a confirmation from Penny you are not booked, so in that case please check with her.
