October Tasting                                                                                                                

President John Sloggie welcomed 62 members to “Whose wine is it anyway” presented by members Caryl and Gordon Sellars at Restaurant Abiss in Calpe Gordon introduced the tasting by announcing that as usual members would receive three presentations from himself, Mary Anderton and Caryl, for each wine tasted but only one would be correct for the wine being tasted. The task was to decide who is telling the truth and who is bluffing. Members where first asked to identify the correct wine and the table which got the most correct would receive a prize. Once the truth was revealed, members scored the wine in the usual way. Full details of the tasting an be found by going on the web site and “Recent Tastings” or by clicking on October Tasting. The cost of each wine and where it can be purchased and average score given by members is shown in the list of wines tasted in 2017, which can be found by clicking on “Wines tasted in 2017”.

Membership

Your membership will be due for renewal by 1st January and is €20 per person. If you wish to renew it in November at the tasting in Ca La Iaia Tony Cabban will be happy to take your cash and give you a receipt.

October Wine Trip

The report on the October Wine Trip is now on the web site and can be accessed by going on to the site and going into Wine Trips or by clicking on “Almansa”

November Tasting

The November tasting will be held at Ca La Iaia, Moraira on November 16th. The wines will be presented by Bodegas Patrocina from DO Rioja.
Please remember that the booking deadline is now the FRIDAY before the tasting. Reservations and choice of main course please to: Penny Floodgate Tel: 965794996 or email pennyfloodgate@gmail.com. Reservations must be received no later than the deadline 12.00 noon on Friday 10th November.
